Turkey: URKEY : Obstacle to NGOs Conspiracy?
Who authorized the so-called ”International Crisis Group” to act/speak on behalf of the Somali people? Who delegated them to select our partners? Who gave them the right to set conditions whoever wants to assisst Somali people? It is true that we were in a come or long lethargy,( see my article LONG LETHARGY), but now we are awake and fully capable to evaluate what’s going around and react accordingly. We know who is behind this assessment and by reading between its lines, we can understand its hiden final objectives. What we can not understand why our intellectual elite can not see this conspiracy and talk about it. Or may be they are victims, as the rest of Somalis, of side-effects of the long lethargy which comprised, among other thinks, loss of true faith, self-esteem and nationalism pride .
All the above and many other charatiristics have led to quasi total dismantle of Somalia and the appearance of individuals whose, in order to accomplish their objectives, have captivated some regions/portions of the country under Ethiopia and Kenya..where in consideration of their loyalty we are classified as low-quality people ready to sell their soul. Unfortunately, those who are now ignoring us, once upon a time it was the opposite.
The intention of this untimely strange assessment of ICG regarding the envolvement of Turkey in Somali affairs can be defined as a well planned conspiracy intended to keep Somalia solely dependent on AU,EGAD & AMISOM while neighboring countries are fulfilling their strategies of how to perpetuate their presence and keep us isolated in a vicious circle under the supervision of ”advicers”, questionable ”special representatives” and corrupted NGOs .
They are asking Turkey to be ”impartial in internal politics” while most, if not all, members of ICG are fomenting divisions among our society. They asked to ”expand assisstance to peaceful regions outside Mogadishu”, an expression repeated several times, not for the sake of other Somali regions rather than creating doubt and lack-of-confidece among ourselves.
It is not my intention to analyze all points raised but just to show that the ICG allowed itself to offend an independent country of ten miolion inhabitants. An insult we consider an outrage, thus telling to Turkey government to ”stop being indifferent to the endemic Somali corruption!!!.”
They are asking Turkey to ”take active role in UN peacebuilding efforts..plus ”provide more support to AMISOM” and avoid to ”embark on a parallel and duplicate process”.
The process that the Turkish government embarked is the only unconditional assisstance we received for more than two decades... as an Arabic wisdom says ”20 years is a long time for a person’s life but it is few for a country’s existence. Most of the other points raised by ICG is the duty expected from the United Nations to carry out for the sake of our development and the ICG are acting like this because they know for sure that no one will ever get time to deduce their hiden agenda, as they are invested unlimited powers as a global NGO.
If the ICG is impartial, as they are expected to be, why they are asking Turkey to ”coordinate with other countries and international agencies to prevent overlap and ensure aid is provided strategically”...is Turkey acting on behalf of UN? Who is supposed to do this?
It’s time we stop fighting each other and direct all our efforts to safe our country before it’s too late. We are people who lost their way and don’t have sense of direction..today we are accepting police force from African countries which will, in the long run, damage our unique identity as they will be mixed with local people. This is categorically unacceptable since the police, everywhere in the world, are the locals who speak the language. The only way to avoid this is to ask Turkey to train ten thousand policemen within two years and get rid of this questionable long term peroject.
It’s everybody’s expectation that newly elected intellectual figures will do their best to get our sovereignty back and deal with all governments NGOs as an equal entity faithful to their people’s aspirations and ready to overcome all hardships, regardless of its sources. Please assure to the Turkish government of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan the ever lasting gratitude of Somali people whom will never forget their unconditional assisstance.
Finally, we know the existence of all kind of obstacles and influences to keep Turkey away from Somalia by even denying access to neighbouring country’s airspace and deter them to fully execute their development projects . Everybody has to know that without Turkey no conferences of that magnitude could ever have been possible to held in Somalia.Thank you Turkiya.
